Analysis Exercise
Rewrite a scene with no dialogue at all. Use only action, visual cues, and sensory details to convey the same information, emotion, and character arc. Choose a scene from your screenplay that relies heavily on dialogue.
Take a scene where characters agree or cooperate. Rewrite it so that every line contains a disagreement—no matter how small. Even allies should have conflicting desires or interpretations.
Write a one-page scene from a single character's point of view using only sensory data (what they hear, smell, feel, see) and physical actions—no internal monologue, no dialogue, no facial expression cues. Then translate that into screenplay format.
